120 Hours is a choice competition for students who love — or perhaps need — an extra dose of adrenaline rushing through their blood. As its name states, the competition challenges participants to solve a complex and socially relevant problem in exactly 120 hours, or 5 days.
The 2014 edition begins once the assignment is revealed on Monday, Feb. 17 at 14:00 (GMT+1) and ends on Saturday, Feb. 22. Three winning proposals will be selected.
Last year's edition brought in a record-breaking 420 student teams from 103 Universities in 44 countries. For 2014, the 120 Hours group hopes to have the winning submission realized.
This year's jury features:
- Ellen van Loon - OMA partner and 120 Hours jury leader
- Nanne de Ru - co-founder of Powerhouse Company and director of The Berlage
- Eva Franch i Gilabert - director of Storefront for Art and Architecture; founder of office of architectural affairs
- Alfredo Brillembourg - Urban Think-Tank founding partner
- Martin Brandsdal - student representative jury member
Two additional jury members from the competition's yet-to-be-revealed partner organization will be announced on the 17th.
If you think you have what it takes, sign up now before it's too late (there's no entry fee!). Sign-up closes once the competition begins.
