In spring Vitra UK launched a national Panton Chair Competition. In the search for the best customized Panton Chair, architects and designers were asked to present their unique idea for the classic design piece.
All 31 entries were auctioned on 1st July 2010 and the proceedings of about £ 10'000 were passed onto Shelter.
The judge’s panel included
Charles Saatchi - the co-founder of the global advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi
Kevin McCloud - the Channel 4 TV presenter
Terence Conran – the well known designer
