New York-based architectural firm Family has has been awarded the second prize in the international competition for the new UGM Art Gallery in Maribor, Slovenia.
The competition committee received 217 entries for the Gallery Competition which is part of a larger, international architectural ideas competition for the arrangement of the river Drava area in the central part of the city. The aim of the competition is to acquire the most suitable scheme for the central stage of the European Capital Of Culture - Drava River 2012, Maribor and for urban regeneration of the city in the next twenty years.
