We're accepting submissions in two categories: Speculative and Pragmatic. Three prize winners in each category will be announced.
- "Speculative" refers to proposals of the sci-fi variety, perhaps involving technologies that don't yet exist, or imagining alternative future scenarios for a drought-affected California.
- "Pragmatic" are the more standard, realistic proposals – ones that could feasibly be implemented today.
1st place winners in each category will receive a $1,000 cash prize, as well as a custom one-week survival kit, including a backpack. Just so you're ready to bug out on a moment's notice. 2nd place winners get an emergency kit stocked with one-week of supplies, and 3rd place winners get a 3-day supply kit. Learn more about the survival-kit supplies here.
We'll also be naming some honorable mentions in each category. All placing entries will be exhibited on Archinect and Bustler.
Once submissions are closed, the competition panel of expert jurors will review the entries. Winners will be revealed on September 14.
