Winners of the Grand Prix Créativité Montréal 2008

Communication Design Montréal announced the Grands Prix of the third edition of the Creativity Montréal annual contest to over 500 design, architecture and communications professionals. These awards were presented in the commercial, office development and urban integration sectors.

This contest rewards merchants for the exemplary quality of their establishment’s interior design and showcases the talents of designers and architectural firms. It also rewards the best office developments and encourages urban integration initiatives.

“Montréal really stands out for quality of its commercial developments. Merchants have understood the importance of design for the prosperity of their business, while designers and architects are showing creativity to offer them suitable environments. With the Créativité Montréal contest and its awards gala, we hope to make Québec talent in this field more widely known,” points out Sylvie Berkowicz, Editor-in-Chief of Créativité Montréal and the person in charge of the contest.

The Grand Prix Créativité Montréal 2008, all categories combined, was awarded to the Michel Brisson boutique, designed by Saucier + Perrotte architectes.

Thirteen other Grands Prix were presented in different categories:

The jury was composed of Philippe Dubuc, fashion designer; Sophie Gironnay, co-founded and director of Galerie Monopoli; Jacques Bilodeau, designer; Marc-André Plasse, architect; and Sergio Morales, architect.

The winners of the 13 Grands Prix and the 13 Prix du concours 2008 are presented, in words and images, in the special edition of Créativité Montréal magazine. This magazine, an ideal reference tool for lovers of design and architecture, as well as for professionals in the discipline, invites its readers to discover innovative locations in Montréal. Copies of the publication were distributed to the guests at the awards gala and are on sale at kiosks and on the Créativité Montréal site starting November 7.
