Finalists have been announced for the re Growth pod competition.

An international ideas competition for the design for a new family house for the residents of Kinglake who have lost their homes in the Bushfire. 

This competition is open to architects and designers not just in Victoria, Australia but to all those interested in the typology required for the re-building of houses whilst the site is occupied by the re-Growth Pod.

It is anticipated that this competition will generate new thinking for living in sites prone to Bushfire as well as creating a dialogue within the design community.

The shortlisted entries are the following, in no particular order:

The competition received an unprecedented level of interest with entries from 18 countries.

The judges Adam Kalkin, Marcus Trimble, Dan Honey, Peter Johns, Stoney and Jacqueline Black will be looking for a design that is creative and practically responds to the brief.

Competition winners will be notified May 11th 2009
