Snøhetta to Design New Science Museum in Guadalajara

Snøhetta was recently selected by the University of Guadalajara as the winner of the competition to design the new Museum of Environmental Science.

Other firms shortlisted for this project were Shigeru Ban (Japan), Diller Scofidio + Renfro (United States), Smiljan Radic (Chile), Mauricio Rocha (Mexico).

The museum will be part of the University's Centro Cultural Universitario (CCU), a cultural district adjacent to the main campus and planned wilderness preserves in Mexico's second most-populous city.

The project is scheduled to begin in early 2011 and has a budget for $35 million. Snøhetta's winning design was developed in collaboration with ARUP for structural MEP, sustainability, acoustics and theater planning.

Look like a nice design, but these renderings are really bad!! If they paid someone to do these, they should get a refund.
