What’s Your Favorite Zombie Safe House? Vote While You Still Can…
Posted: Wednesday, November 10, 2010 |

The threat of mankind by the undead is a topic that has been neglected by architectural design for too long. The happier we are that the 2010 Zombie Safe House Competition is finally tackeling this important issue. The spatial program was as challenging as the zombie threat itself: weapons storage, chemical storage, holding cell, quarantine showers — all leading up to the most essential design task: How will you keep zombies out of your safe house?

Deadline (or shall we say...undeadline) was last Monday, November 8, and now the public has a saying who should be the final winner. Head over to the competition website and cast your vote...while you still can.

I don't understand. Why is everyone trying to keep the Zombies away? I was hoping someone would propose a Zombie version of ADA code for architecture - simple things we can implement in buildings to make them more user friendly to zombies. Poor Zombies.

Aghast, I expect you to be a green monk, alternating between designing, meditating, eating and sleeping in your monastic cell. No relaxing with friends for you, the truly devout! Next competition: green monastary, a place to focus ALL of your energies on solving global warming. Make sure to include a lobbying control center so that all your efforts are not for naught.

Meanwhile, zombie diesel = brilliant.

Oh so sad that the competition is over now. I wanted lto do a project like that for my diploma (this year). It was the perfect excuse! But the contest is over...
I hope that my teachers would agree that I do a project like that...
Great idea !
Why was it so short? Why just a few people joined it?
See ya zombie lovers!
