Winners of 2009 AIA San Francisco Design Awards

By Bustler Editors|

Monday, Apr 13, 2009

The winners of the 2009 AIA San Francisco Design Awards have recently been honored at the gala of the American Institute of Architects, San Francisco chapter.

Projects by local design firms were awarded in eight categories: Architecture, Interior Architecture, Energy + Sustainability, Integrate Practice, Unbuilt Design, Urban Design, Young Architects + Associates, as well as Special Achievement.

Bill Burke, a juror in the Energy + Sustainability category, said: “Good design includes both building aesthetics and environmental concerns—it all goes together. We’re seeing some outstanding projects that have made a serious commitment to minimizing their environmental impact, and the bar is definitely rising.”

The 2009 award-winning projects will be exhibited on the expo floor of the AIA Convention in San Franciso, April 30 - May 2, 2009.
