Earlier this summer, the 2009 Architectural 3D Awards were presented to the winners at an awards ceremony during the Mundos Digitales conference in La Coruna, Spain.

The CGarchitect.com Architectural 3D Awards were started in 2004 to recognize outstanding achievement in the field of architectural visualization. Over the past five years, many extremely talented individuals and companies have gone on to form new alliances and partnerships and advanced their careers. This year, CGarchitect have expanded the awards to recognize eight more categories of work including a new category for real-time presentations.

The 2009 jury comprised Matthew Bannister (dbox), Gus Capote (Neoscape), Kim O’Brien Chalmers (steelblue), Jim Chen (Sunup CG), Marc Gruber-Laux (Pure), Jamie Gwilliam (Autodesk), Thomas Livings (Burning Boy Studio), Ximo Peris (Crystal CG), Dan Southgate (Seventh Art Group), Martin Summers (Morphosis Architects), Leonard Teo (Autodesk), and Lewis Quinn (Hayes Davidson).

In the category “Architectural Film/Animation”, British studios Uniform and The Neighbourhood won first prizes for Best Overall Architectural Film/Animation, Best Editing, Most Original Film/Animation Treatment, and Industry Choice.
