Still from Rüstungsschmie.de's projection ‘Klang3’

Summer is almost here, so that means the Genius Loci Weimar festival is coming back for another year! Three winners were recently chosen to be showcased on some of Weimar's historic buildings during the two-night façade projection festival from August 15-17.

The winners are:

  • mammasONica from Italy with ‘Limen’ (Anna Amalia Library)
  • Rüstungsschmie.de from Dresden with ‘Klang3’ (German National Theatre Weimar)
  • Xenorama from Bremen with ‘Moya Facade’ (Herder and Ohm Krüger)

Each winner received a cash prize of €15,000 to have their submissions realized into a 10-15 minute audio-visual production.

Winners were chosen from almost 60 international submitted entries, all which comprised of 30-second video clips. Winning entries were chosen by a public vote online and by the expert jury during April 22 - May 16, 2014. Exhibition models featuring all competition entries will be disclayed until Aug. 18, 2014 at various locations across Weimar.

We'll have to hang tight until August to see the final productions of each winner. Until then, check out some video clips of each winner right below.
