Is there a more equitable way for talented designers to get their ideas mass-produced (and mass-sold?). There must be another option for a designer who wants to build and develop a prototype than to send it off to Spain and hope for the best.

This is the second competition I noticed on this site- the first is sponsored by "kinetic architecture"- who blatantly tells the entrants they will no longer own their intellectual property once they enter the contest. In this case, the total award paid by the sponsor is $7,200... Sounds like an incredible investment- for Andreu.

Designers are too driven by financial necessity and by ego to make rational decisions. In the golden days, Le Corbusier, Mies, Breuer, Aalto, Eames, etc, got to keep their identity after their sofas and tables were manufactured (and sold) by others.

Please consult with an attorney prior to sending anything to Andreu World, and read their "internal regulations" very carefully.
