As part of the project ‘Science City’ the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH) is planning to build 1000 student accommodation units and in accordance with the ‘Science City’ master plan at least 390 apartments should be completed on the plot IV.3. by 2010. Additionally a nursery and some public areas will be transferred to this plot to coincide with the completion of this first phase. The building of student accommodation fulfils an important precondition for the long term development of the ETH campus Honggerberg. The new buildings will need to meet the high standards set out by the ETH with regard to architectural quality, sustainability and cost effectiveness.

The ETH Zurich will be seeking designs for this project through an open architectural competition. Jury: Astrid Staufer, Marc Langenegger, Dietmar Eberle, Kees Christiaanse, Hansruedi Preisig, Ueli Laedrach

Note! All correspondence, information, the program, questions etc. and the project have to be in German.
