The Advanced Landscape and Urbanism research group at the University of Greenwich invites contributions for the inaugural issue of a new design research journal, testing-ground.
The first issue of the testing-ground journal will include exploratory articles, experimental projects and design speculations investigating the trajectories of landscapes and cities. Submissions will consider the temporal trajectories of sites, investigate patterns of urban change and explore how these transformations can be redirected in the future. Submissions will examine the flows of materials and people which intertwine to form urban spaces and they will ask how small actions can contribute to extraordinary change.
Submissions as essays/features between 500 and 3500 words are welcomed from artists, architects, landscape architects, urban designers, geographers, anthropologists, sociologists and ecologists interested in the transformation of cities and landscapes. The deadline for submissions is Monday 19 October, 2015. The journal will be launched in December 2015 with an exhibition of featured works. Further details of the journal and the call for contributions can be found on http://testing-ground.org/
