The consultation consists of two parts – design competition and parallel academic research. All outstanding university research teams and design institutes around the globe are welcome to participate. SLCCA is the research topic of “Shenzhen Future +”. The research results and the winning proposals of the competition will be exhibited at the 3rd Shenzhen Forum on International Low Carbon City. They will also be the recommended projects for the Bi-city Biennale of Urbanism\ Architecture 2015.
II. Consultation content
1、Competition
The competition consists of the urban design for the pilot zone of the ILCC and architectural design for Land 05-01 and 05-03. The two competitions will be held separately.
The competition is open to all to gather outstanding design proposals internationally. The organizer will form an expert team to review the submissions from design institutes. The winning institutes will be awarded with prizes and the winning proposals will be exhibited on the 3rd Shenzhen ILCC Forum and be the recommended projects for the Bi-city Biennale of Urbanism\ Architecture 2015.
1.1 Urban design competition for the pilot zone
The pilot zone of the Shenzhen ILCC lies at Gaoqiao area on PINGDI Street, Longgang District. It runs along the Dingshan River and covers the area north to Huanlong Avenue (north pathway), west to Jiaoyu Road North, east to Gaoqiao Road and the area within the ecological line of the surrounding mountains. The total planning area is around one square kilometer.
The contest aims at collecting the cutting-edge urban design philosophy and innovative ideas on construction of the land. The formal notice for the urban design competition is planned to be released on 15 January 2015.
1.2 Architectural design contest for Land lot 05-01 and 05-03
Land 05-01 covers a gross floor area of 240,600 ㎡, which includes 120,300 ㎡ of R & D area and factories, 7,200 ㎡ of retail, 87,250 ㎡ of offices, 24,700 ㎡ of business apartments, and 1,100 ㎡ of management facilities. Land 05-03 covers a gross floor area of 222,600 ㎡, which includes 155,800 ㎡ of R & D area and factories, 6,600 ㎡ of retail, 37,300 ㎡ of offices, 22,380 ㎡ of business apartments and 500 ㎡ of management facilities.
The competition aims at providing basis for feasible architectural design proposals with the combination of urban design contest results. The formal notice for Land 05-01 and 05-03 architectural design competition is scheduled to be released by 2 April 2015.
