Proposals for inclusion within an edited volume of 15-essays entitled: Sonic Infrastructure(s). The publication proposes to move outside the visual paradigm to investigate the relationships between architecture, music, and/or acoustics. The work will build on the discussion involving both historical and critical studies of these relationships, focusing on the strategies and techniques used by architects in dealing with sound and with ideas borrowed from music. We invite papers on and by architects, architectural theorists and also musicians, composers, artists, filmmakers and other spatial practitioners that discuss or propose gestures of movement related to musical devices, or theories, relevant for the field of the built environment. Final essays and/or articles are to be approximately 3~5,000 words. Authors please note: an accompanying CD including short videos, podcasts, and/or sound recordings is intended to be included within the publication.
