We are surrounded by lights, regardless of whether it is day or night. And probably the most familiar and classic image of a light is the traditional light bulb.
When the incandescent light bulb was invented it was made out of necessity for its functionality and strength as opposed to its design, but the shape of the beautiful spherical bulb continues to be used today in household lighting even though the incandescent light bulb is seldom used anymore. Now, with the growing popularity of LED lights, there is no reason why we cannot be a little more creative with the shapes of our light bulbs and free a bulb from its conventional form.
This contest calls for free-style creative designs for lights that can be enjoyed either on or off. Winning designs will be brought to life using a 3D printer and made into a cover for an LED light. We’ll have specialists to create the 3D data, so even if you are completely new to this, you can still enter! Even simple rough sketches can be transformed into real-life three-dimensional objects using the 3D printer. Think of your own new LED light design and the various life scenes where lights are used, and submit your entry in the contest.
