Colombia is committed to build peace by achieving a negotiated solution to the decades-long internal conflict. As part of a series of reparation measures to the victims of the conflict and prevention of non-recurrence, Colombia will build a National Museum of Memory. It will be the only national museum built in the midst of an ongoing armed conflict.
The National Centre for Historical Memory (NCHM), in association with the Colombian Society of Architects, made available on May 27 the final rules of the International Competition for the Architectural Design of Colombia’s National Museum of Memory.
The NCHM calls all interested candidates in this competition to send all required documents for the registration before June 19. This is an unparalleled opportunity for all architects, Colombian and foreign, to be the designer of a project of great urbanistic and political transcendence for Colombia with a restorative, monumental and memorial nature.
This international competition will select the best proposal that meet and comply with the requirements to express the memories of what happened and the voices of resistance, while combining through the different areas of the Museum the expectations and demands of the citizens that contribute to the construction of a better country.
