The goal of the International Design Competition is to transform the area of Magok into a tourist, commerce, and environment friendly waterfront area, in line with Seouls “Han River Renaissance Project,” through the participation and input of various professionals and experts from Korea and abroad.
Magok is now the last large underdeveloped tract in Seoul, and there are high expectations for the future Waterfront in terms of its impact on the local economy, and on the city.
Due to Magok’s association with the Han River Renaissance Project, the participation domestic and international professionals and experts is considered vital.
The Magok Waterfront Project represents another effort to futher promote a more global, eco-friendly image of Seoul.
The Project aims to advance water transportation connecting the Han River to the Yellow Sea, while creating a well developed waterfront environment that houses all necessary facilities and amenities.
