The Kalil Smart Design Scholar/Practitioner Fellowship Grant supports the project of a current faculty member or group of faculty members from any New School division, or an outside scholar/scholar group, or a practitioner from within any design field.

The grant supports travel, research, tools, etc as proposed by the applicant with a lump sum $5000.

All projects that explicitly involve technology and design in the service of environmental sustainability will be considered.

Proposals will be blind, without indication of the author on or in the Proposal itself. Applicants are required to submit an electronic Intention to Submit Form. Each form is given a reference number in order to keep track of personal information and Proposal materials. Reference numbers will be placed on Project Proposals.
