2015 Educational Grant Program
PURPOSE:
To provide a financial grant to an undergraduate student who has completed their third or fourth year in the study of architecture as of July 1, 2015, and will be for use in the student’s academic development.
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION:
- Candidate must be enrolled as a student in an NAAB accredited architectural program at a college or university in the State of Pennsylvania. Or be a Pennsylvania resident, enrolled in an NAAB accredited architectural program in another state.
- The student must be of strong character and impeccable integrity.
- The student shall be of high academic standing.
REQUIREMENTS FOR SELECTION:
- Applications due on or before May 31, 2015. Applications are the be submitted to: KSM Architects 901 Lancaster Ave., Berwyn, PA 19312.
- The most recent transcript or grade report noting the GPA, from the college or university shall be provided.
- A brief autobiographical sketch describing the student’s reason for studying architecture and the architectural goals to be achieved by the candidate.
- A letter of recommendation from the Dean of the program or course advisor.
- A portfolio of design work which best supports the student’s interest in architecture. The portfolio is to be a maximum of 10 pages, in PDF format on a compact disc or jump drive (MAX SIZE to be 11x17 @ 300 pixels/in).
- A peer recommendation illustrating the applicant’s inclination for helping other students.
- Candidate must be available for interview by the selection committee.
- Grant recipient to give a five minute presentation at the PA SARA Annual Professional Design Awards (PDA) banquet.
AMOUNT OF THE GRANT:
The amount of the annual grant award will be $2,000.
AWARD PRESENTATION:
Award will be presented during the annual PA SARA Council, Professional Design Awards Banquet.
