Esterni have launched the Public Design Festival Competition.

This unique opportunity to design a planned intervention on an urban parking area is open to different types of approaches, from community service to urban furniture. 

Ten projects will be selected from the entries to be executed during the festival, which will be in Milan from April 18th to the 26th, 2009.

Organized by esterni, who have been producing work for the public realm for the past thriteen years, the first edition of the festival will be held at the same time as Milan’s furniture fair (Salone del Mobile).

The goal is to “highlight the important and central role of public spaces as places where citizens develop a sense of community.”
