Individual/ Group entries are invited from bonafide students of architecture for :

1)    Conceptual designs/ sketches for an eleven storied building (named as PTT Building) in sector 17 chandigarh on the proposed site of post and telegraph building as designed by the Legendry Le Corbusier.

2)    Brief:
    The site is an approx. 1.6 acre piece of land in the heart of Sec 17,Chandigarh.

Maximum Ground cov. 25%.
Two level Basement to be used for parking only
Block A- double storied: ht 29’1”  max.
Block B: Eleven storied : ht 157’4” max.
Ht of parapet (4’6”), mumty, lift machine room will be extra.
The Building shall conform to NBCC norms.
Site:
A site between the Jagat Cinema and the General Post Office is ear-marked for the high-rise complex comprising two blocks including a double-storeyed shopping. The building could be a financial hub and would act as a focal point for Chandigarh and in the context of scarce office space in Sector 17, it would offer facilities like office, commercial and shopping space, super departmental stores, medical halls, cyber cafes, games plaza and other entertainment halls, exhibition halls and cinema complexes with multiple screens, apart from conference and seminar rooms. Penthouse-offices would occupy the top floor and the basement would be used as parking space. The complex would provide at least 1200 office units and 13,000 square metres of shopping space.

Last date for submission: Till 1700 , 30th of sept 2011.





Mode of Submission:

The entries shall be submitted on max 5 nos of A-3 size sheets, duly
authenticated by the school authorities, scanned and submitted electronically to
[email protected]. However the originals shall be brought in person at YAF-2011 for presentation.

Architectural documentation

•    Panel size: A3
•    Ink: Only black,

Free hand sketches / hand drawings
    Axonometric / Isometric drawings are preferred.
    Black and white (i.e. pencil, graphite, pastels, ink-wash, charcoal, printed,plotted etc.)
    All photographs, sketches and perspectives shall be in support of the document and not be stand alone and desirably in black and white
    The drawings should be self explanatory with little text.

o    Scope of competition: The scope of competition is purely academic.
•     Jury:
The Leading professionals and academicians from the architect fraternity will be part of the jury to be appointed by YAF Committee.

•    Prizes:
As judged by the jury, the following prizes will be given

First price:         Rs. 10000/-

Second Price:     Rs. 7500/-

Third Price:         Rs. 5000/-

Apart from the above , all the bonafide entries will be duly acknowledged in the form of participation certificates/ citations.
