Take the HELM - Hire + Expand in Lower Manhattan

Take the HELM - Hire and Expand in Lower Manhattan (www.taketheHELMnyc.com) is a competition sponsored the New York City Economic Development Corporation as part of the City’s initiative to diversify the Lower Manhattan economy by attracting innovative and creative companies, building upon more than $30B in new investment over the last decade and an economic shift that has brought more design, media, and technology firms to the area.

Take the HELM celebrates companies looking to capitalize on Lower Manhattan's exciting growth with more than $1.25 million in prizes for up to 20 companies, including:

• $250,000 each for up to 4 winning companies relocating to or expanding in Lower Manhattan
• $50,000 each for up to 4 runners-up relocating to or expanding in Lower Manhattan
• $10,000 each for up to 12 other finalists

Companies less than 3 years old and companies opening their first office in New York City will be given priority for at least 2 prizes.

Lease or space agreements, south of Chamber Street, can be signed between March 15, 2013 and March 14, 2014

Applications are due by July 15, 2013
