Research Summit Call for Papers
The Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) and the Creative Directors of the 2015 Festival of Landscape Architecture invite submissions of abstracts for this year’s Research Summit, addressing the theme This Public Life through the lenses Life + Death, Love + Longing and Participation + Spectacle.
The Research Summit asks:
? What are the physical, philosophical and psychological benefits of human connections to nature?
? How to make 21st century landscapes more viable and more meaningful?
? How might we define our new ‘environmental commons’?
? How to mediate new meaning through phenomenology and desire?
? How intimate personal experiences constitute shared public memory?
? How to invite social participation?
? How technology enables social and ecological change
Submission Requirements
For the 2015 Research Summit, we welcome contributions from students, researchers, practioners and academics (including interdisciplinary submissions).
Presentations may include:
? Posters (abstract 400–500 words)
? Keynote presentations (abstract maximum 1500 words)
The submission deadline for poster and keynote presentation abstracts to the Research Summit Committee (RSC) is midnight AEST Friday 5 June 2015. Abstracts will be peer-reviewed and selected for presentation by the RSC. Successful applicants will be notified of their acceptance by Friday 3 July 2015 and will receive reviewers’ comments. Presenters must then submit final versions by Thursday 8 October 2015, a week prior to the Summit.
