The purpose of this design competition is to promote affordable and sustainable housing as well as smart growth development in the City of San Antonio. The participating individuals/teams are challenged to design a development project that consists of LEED® Silver, or better, affordable multifamily housing and a small gathering center for the residents. The design must include a minimum of 8 housing units. The units should not exceed 1,350 square feet each. The gathering center for the residents should not be larger than 3,200 square feet. The development should include the following features: a small garden, mail center, sitting areas, bicycle racks and other amenities the project team wishes to include. The project will utilize the LEED® for Homes Rating System to design the housing units and LEED® for New Construction for the design of the gathering center.
