Weaving New City-Fabric: Call for Noise Mitigation/Retaining Structure Design for Tsuen Wan Bypass

Submission Deadline:  Tuesday, May 22, 201212 AMEDT

The Competition invites qualified professionals in the fields of architecture, engineering, landscape architecture, urban design, planning and surveying to contribute ideas and concepts on the noise mitigation for Tsuen Wan Bypass (Professional Group) and the general public to contribute ideas and concepts on the retaining structure design for Tsuen Wan Bypass (Open Group) for reference and future implementation by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSARG).

Entry Groups:     Professional Group and Open Group

Interested Participants should first register for the Competition by submitting the duly completed and signed Entry Form (Annex 1) of the Competition Document to the Professional Adviser by email to [email protected].

One Winning Entry and Three Finalist Entries will be selected for each Group for the Weaving New City-Fabric - Call for Noise Mitigation/Retaining Structure Design for Tsuen Wan Bypass.

Professional Group
1 Winning Entry            HK$360,000 prize
3 Finalist Entries            Each HK$120,000 prize

Open Group
1 Winning Entry            HK$80,000 prize
3 Finalist Entries            Each HK$35,000 prize

The broad assessment guidelines are:
A. Creativity
B. Feasibility, Buildability and Effectiveness
C. Application of Urban Design Principles
D. Sustainable and Environmental Friendly
E. Harmonize with the Neighbourhood
F. Durability and Ease in Maintenance
G. Community/Locals Acceptance
