WORKING TEXTILES

This is a call for large-scale working textile entries to be installed as part of an upcoming month-long exhibition at the Rock Paper Scissors Gallery in Oakland.

RPS is a collectively run space dedicated to uplifting the community with shared knowledge, a reading room, and for local artists to display their works in the hand-made boutique and the gallery. We hope that this show will spur a discussion about how textiles create and influence spaces as well take on dynamic qualities.

This call is broad, anything from carpets, curtains, ceilings, electronics, interactives, furniture, inflatables, lighting, etc. This exhibition is a way to provide a platform for emerging artists, architects or anyone to publicly display their work. Individuals, groups and collaborations are encouraged to submit.

• a visual and / or narrative description of physical submission
• size of final submission and display instructions

March 2, 2012: FIRST FRIDAY/ART MURMUR! There will be a large opening reception from 6pm-9pm
