Have you succeeded in creating a Zero Net Energy project? If you have, there could be $10,000 in it for you!
To help spur the market for zero energy buildings in the Northeast, the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) has developed the Zero Net Energy Building Award to recognize net-zero-energy buildings designed for the unique Northeast climate. Projects must document net-zero energy use while offering a high level of comfort, affordability, and reliability. A jury will determine the winner. The winner will be announced at Building Energy Conference, to be held March 9-11, 2011 at the Seaport World Trade Center.
The deadline for the applications falls on Wednesday December 15, 2010. To be eligible for the award, buildings must be occupied and document net-zero energy use for one year. The competition is open to occupied buildings in the Northeast-the six New England states plus New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland.
