ABOUT BARANGAROO

Barangaroo is a new 22 hectare waterfront precinct in Sydney’s CBD that will use Australian leadership and innovation to set global benchmarks in sustainability and urban design.
Key open space features will include:

  • creation of a significant harbourside park;
  • restoration of an entire harbour headland to its pre-European settlement shape
  • completion of the 14-kilometre Foreshore Walk from Woolloomooloo to Anzac Bridge.

Over the past 12 months, the Concept Plan has been modified to include the creation of a more natural headland and larger northern cove. The aim is to complement some of the key natural features of the harbour immediately west of the Harbour Bridge.

HEADLAND PARK AND PUBLIC DOMAIN REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL

Barangaroo’s Headland Park and Public Domain represents a rare opportunity to design a landmark harbourside space and, reinstate the green headlands of the western harbour. Leading architecture, landscape architecture and urban design companies are now invited to respond to a Request for Proposals (RFP) to shape Barangaroo’s public domain.

RFP submissions close at 2 pm on 18 December 2009.

Applicants involved in the Stage 1 commercial development EOI process are welcome to participate in the Barangaroo Headland Park and Public Domain Design RFP, in accordance with specific guidelines:

  • Submissions will be accepted from Stage 1 applicants complying with the terms and conditions of the Headland Park and Public Domain Design RFP and the Stage 1 request for proposals process.
  • Applicants may be required to demonstrate to the Barangaroo Delivery Authority and the Probity Auditor that appropriate internal governance and confidentiality arrangements and procedures will be implemented to address any of the Authority’s confidentiality, probity, competitiveness or cost concerns, and also demonstrating an ability to comply with such arrangements and procedures.
