Built by Women DC (BxW DC) will identify outstanding buildings, structures, and other built environments, either contemporary or historic, designed or constructed by women and located in the Washington, DC region. The finalists will be digitally profiled and ultimately included in an exhibition, map, and educational materials that highlight women’s contributions to this great city. The following criteria will be used to select the winners of Built by Women DC (BxW DC):
- The structure or built environment must have a woman who was directly responsible for leading the design (architecture, engineering, or landscape) or who led the construction, either from the development or construction management team. Team nominations will also be considered.
- Projects must be completed or have broken ground and be located in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
Categories include: Civic, Commercial, Cultural, Institutional, Landscape, Mixed-Use, Residential, Transportation, Urban Design
