£14,500 in prizes
Registration/Submission Period: 20th September – 22nd November 2013
The Objective
We are asking those who understand the essence of Cambridge to provide ideas for the design of a single dwelling -focusing on the external character, detail and fabrication – for a new development called ‘Wing’.
What should the essence of this new place be and how will it manifest in the fabric and articulation of the built environment?
Wing will be formed on 150 acres of land to the north of Cambridge International Airport, which are owned by Marshall of Cambridge, one of the largest privately owned companies in the UK. Marshall has developed a Masterplan which will include 1,200 to 1,300 new homes, open spaces and playing fields, a commercial hub, a new primary school, community facilities and supermarket.
For further information see: www.wingcambridge.co.uk
The competition is open to architectural students, graduates or professionals - either working individually or as a group or practice - with an interest in the character and development of Cambridge. As part of registration, entrants must provide a brief statement of up to 100 words on their personal relationship with Cambridge, together with the house design.
And that’s it, no complicated forms, CV’s or past experience required... we just want to keep it simple.
