4. Objective:
The category is interested in unfolding common routine and daily operation of a place. It invites proposal of small changes that would trigger large effects to reflect the aspects of ‘Architecture, Culture and Place…’ as a whole.
The category encourages observation and investigation of urban and or rural lives that are down to earth and ‘common’ to ordinary people. Participants are free to select a site from the 4 places (no specific site area restriction; no specific building type), propose an intervention and or de-intervention to challenge the received understanding of a site as bounded, to expand the architecture beyond a use-function based notion of programme and to manifest the idea of ‘Architecture, Culture and Place…’.
5. Eligibility:
Any current full-time student studying in Architecture – related courses offered in the four regions (Mainland China, Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong)
6. Closing Date for Registration and Submission: 16 Jan 2015, 11:59pm
7. Registration and Submission Fee: None
8. Awards:
* One Gold Award, Two Silver Awards, three Bronze Awards and 14 Honourable Mentions
* All award winners will receive invitations to the Symposium and Awards Presentation Dinner held at Hong Kong on 28 March 2015
