International Public Invitation for English-Speaking weblogs to The 11th Virtual Forum of Iran Architectural Weblogs

History:

As you may be heard It is about one year or more that a new movement with the title of “Architectural Banquets” has been began in the community of Iran architectural weblogging. These banquets are the communal movement of Iranian webloggers within the scope of architecture and urbanism, these are held every two months on a scheduled date and the webloggers would share their personal opinions and conclusions of their studies and researches with each other.

Till now ten banquets with the following topics has been held:

First Banquet: “House”
Second Banquet: “Creativity – Architecture”
Third Banquet: “Architecture Education”
Fourth Banquet: “Street”
Fifth Banquet: “From Space”
Sixth Banquet: “Contextualism in Architecture”
Seventh Banquet: “Future of Architecture”
Eighth Banquet: “Architecture and Media”
Ninth Banquet: “Sense of Place in Urban Spaces”
Tenth Banquet: “Introduction and Criticism of One of Iran Contemporary Architecture Buildings”
And today the Eleventh Banquet with the topic of “Professional Ethics in Architecture and Urbanism” is going to be held internationally.

Mission:

The mission of this banquet is creating virtual community, exchanging thoughts, and interaction between English-speaking and persian-speaking webloggers from all over the world about one particular topic in architecture and urbanism.

Vision: (Iman Raeisi)

If it is “Human who has created the ideal of self ethics in Gods dignity” (Kant) and “God of western metaphysics is dead” (Nietzsche), Can we also emphasize ethics?

If “Religion – as the collection of ethics regulations- have the rule of controller to people masses” (Marx), between architects and urban planners –who possess the higher recognition levels in comparison with the people masses - Can we discuss about ethics?

How can be an Individualist, and think about ethics which is a pluralist conception?

Is professional ethics in the time that architecture and urbanism were ordered and human had fear of God, in comparison with the professional ethics in the time that architecture and urbanism have been organized with “Turbulence” and “Chaos Theory” a permanent conception?

Is ethics a comparative category which in different cultures there exist different attitudes about it? Is also Ornament, a crime”? (With respect to Adolf Loos)

If the designers be honest, can they impose their ideas to employers?

Can we mislead the employers for the progression of plans?

Is misleading an ethical act?

Where is the boundary of breaking patterns of professional ethics in architecture and urbanism?

Where is the boundary of loyalty to the patterns of professional ethics in architecture and urbanism?

And at last, why do we need professional ethics in today architecture and urbanism?

Timeline:

The proceedings will begin on 5 May 2009 and end on 5 June 2009.
