The ARCH+ Magazine for Architecture and Urbanism is launching the international competition ”PLANETARY URBANISM – CRITIQUE OF THE PRESENT in the medium of information design“.
PLANETARY URBANISM is the second competition of this kind launched by ARCH+ after we successfully arranged the information design competition ”OUT OF BALANCE – Critique of the Present. Information Design after Otto Neurath“, attracting a wide international attention in 2012/13.
The competition is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and will take place in the context of the UN-Habitat Conference 2016, where the results will be presented. Project partner of the exhibition is the M:AI, Museum for Architecture and the Art of Engineering, NRW.Consulted by the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU).
The competition is intended for
- Designers from the fields of architecture, urban and regional planning, environmental planning, graphic, product and media design, statistics, cartography, photography, film and the visual arts
- Scientists from the fields of art and cultural theory, art education, information and communication sciences, social sciences, economics, environmental sciences and geosciences
- Students from both of the above fields.
Prize money: EUR 20,000
