CREATIVE CHAOS IN ABRANTES, PORTUGAL
180 Creative Camp is back. The 5th edition of the event takes place from July 5th to 12th in the Portuguese city of Abrantes, representing once again one of the leading creativity gatherings worldwide.
Until May 31st artists can submit a proposal for an Urban Intervention Project up to 5.000€.
Creative collaborations in media arts is the main theme of this event developed by Canal180, that reunites again some of the most inspiring creators of the world from different areas of artistic expression for a week of creative intersections. Video, music, photography, design, architecture and urban art are some of the areas that will be remixed at the next 180 Creative Camp.
180 Creative Camp is also looking for 15 “Stores Art Attack Projects”, an initiative that was born in the 2014 edition of the event. This contest intends to find 15 international proposals for creative interventions to be implemented in traditional stores in the historical center of Abrantes, with the purpose of reviving traditional businesses. The authors of the selected proposals will have free access to all 180 Creative Camp’s activities and will also be offered accommodation and meals during the creativity event. Additionally, each proposal will be awarded with 200€ and this value is destined to its implementation.
Counting already five successful editions, 180 Creative Camp will soon reveal the artists that will be attending the 2015 edition, as well as new partnerships with international media platforms, which will take part in interventions, exhibitions and presentations during the event. Besides workshops and several other activities related to the aforementioned creative fields, the event also announces a different live music show every nigh of the creative week.
It’s the third time that the city of Abrantes, located in central Portugal, opens its streets and squares to 180 Creative Camp, having already welcomed in previous editions celebrated artists around the world, like French duo Ella&Pitr;, Galician sculptor Isaac Cordal, Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman and multidisciplinary artist Olaf Breuning. 180 Creative Camp is produced by Canal180, a Portuguese TV channel focused on art and culture.
The artists interested in participating in the open call Stores Art Attack Projects should fill out the form available at www.180.camp until May 31st. For more information, visit the same website, or contact [email protected].
