What's Bubbling? Kitchen Tools 2011 International Design Co

World Kitchen spotlights changing lifestyles and their impact on food preparation in its call for entries into the 2011 What’s Bubbling? Kitchen Tools International Design Competition. The invitation, rules, and submission processes are shown at www.WhatsBubbling.net; status updates and discussions appear at Kitchen Tools 2011 on Facebook.

The three best design concepts submitted will each win: $6,000(US) plus a trip to the International Home & Housewares Show in Chicago for the ceremonies. World Kitchen will announce the What's Bubbling winners on March 6, 2011, International Home + Housewares Show, Chicago, Illinois, USA.

“Whether your food means pasta in Pisa, salad in Seattle, or life on
the go in Shanghai, Mumbai or Dubai, your world is changing. Cultures
and economies are making new demands, which is when designers have the
most to contribute to the quality of life,” said Craig Sampson, World Kitchen’s chief innovation officer, in announcing the Kitchen Tools theme.

More Key Facts:

Scope: Tools for preparing, cooking, and serving food, but not the
actual devices that cook or on which the food is served.

Design Ownership: Participants retain ownership of designs, subject to
World Kitchen's right of first refusal.

Submission Materials: Essay answers that reflect the criteria, visuals
to describe research and solution; no models

Jury: An international jury will select the Award winners and may decide to give honorable mentions as merited. The jury will be announced in November.
