AgSS:L will engage the specific case of Agniesebuurt area toward genesys of new tools for further use. Findings generated within will serve as a starting point for both questioning and better understanding of citizens’ participation in public space. Unique opportunity for the transnational local community and international professionals and students to work joined underlies the importance of participation and alternative use of public space through creative initiatives. The final products will be approved through the in-situ production of (1) urban re-vitalisation events: STREET.SCAPES:LAB, developed in parallel to (2) public debates with relevant guests on urban issues. (1) The STREET.SCAPES:LAB is conceived as an alternative; Through temporary autonomous structure; soapbox presentations, occupying models, engaging general public within publicspace, we build permanent promotion of collective usage, community capacity strenghtening; narratives to be interpreted as inclusive bits of public space. Various media and usage tools will provoke curiosity and close contact. (2) For the public debates we invite the most relevant thinkers, independent initiatives, Community builders, Experts, designers and Designers, architects and planners from the Agniesebuurt area, joined with a vibrant group of SCAPES:LAB participants from Novi Sad, Belgrade, Niš, Skopje, Sarajevo, Podgorica and Banja Luka who will do a series of placemaking actions around Amsterdam, Almere, Haague, Delft and Rotterdam in July. The strong transnational exchange will clarify a sharp critique and directions for the applicable outcomes, not just for Agniesebuurt and Rotterdam Noord. On this specific case, we learn to understand, define, make a critic and interpret with relevant argumentation. The work will focus on generating insights to: What is the public space in itself? What can we learn from Agniesebuurt’s authentiCity? http://flatscapeslab.blogspot.com/p/agsslab.html
