AIA|LA Spring 2011 Home Tours: "Ve ≠ SaMo"

Sunday, May 15, 201111 PMEDT

Los Angeles, CA | Los Angeles, CA

Is Santa Monica really the haven of soccer moms and ocean side yuppies? Is Venice really the funky, bohemian focal point of Los Angeles? Historically Venice and Santa Monica have been considered to be two neighboring beach cities that are as different as day and night. Or are they? Does the old saying still ring true? "Santa Monica is for shopping, Venice is for bars?" The American Institute of Architects, Los Angeles Chapter, invites you to explore these two cities and come up with your own conclusions, at least in regard to architecture and design, about Venice and Santa Monica in the next edition of their Spring 2011 Home Tours: Ve ≠ SaMo (Venice is not Santa Monica). Come see the magnificent homes for an opportunity to engage in Los Angeles' architectural vernacular. At each home you will have the opportunity to talk to the architects, docents and discover new designs for living.
