TEX-FAB 4.0 - APPLIED: Research through Fabrication Dallas / Fort Worth, Texas Already in its fourth year TEX-FAB is pleased to continue the theme of APPLIED: Research through Fabrication which began with a competition in 2011, narrowed down to 4 finalists by the first-round jury at TEX-FAB 3.0 which proceeded to a second-round jury at the ACADIA 2012, Synthetic Digital Ecologies Conference. The winning entry Cast Thicket is currently being rationalized and implemented. This year's event once again brings together leading practitioners whose focus on digital fabrication and design is breaking new ground. The exhibition is accompanied by a Keynote lecture by Lisa Iwamoto and a day long symposia at the University of Texas at Arlington, School of Architecture. The final two days are dedicated to a series of Workshops led by a cadre of experts covering a broad range of topics. Open to professional/faculty and students, the workshops are essential at skill building for those interested in parametric techniques within an architectural context. // LECTURES + SYMPOSIA LISA IWAMOTO, IwamotoScott, Keynote (Co-sponsored with the DALLAS ARCHITECTURE FORUM) CHRIS LASCH, Aranda\Lasch JASON KELLY JOHNSON, Future-Cities Lab GIL AKOS + RONNIE PARSONS, Studio Mode DAVID FANO + NATHAN MILLER, CASE Inc. // EXHIBITION CASKET THICKET, yo-cy University of Texas at Arlington, School of Architecture // WORKSHOPS TRAVIS MCCARRA, Dsgnfrdg JON BAILEY + BEN COMPTION, HKS|Line Studio CHRIS LASCH, Aranda\Lasch JASON KELLY JOHNSON, Future-Cities Lab GIL AKOS + RONNIE PARSONS, Studio Mode DAVID FANO + NATHAN MILLER, Case Inc.
