The traveling exhibition prepared by BIO Secretariat presents BIO 21 award-winners and a selection of Slovenian works that were on display at BIO 21. It is prepared in cooperation with Estonian Association of Designers (EDL) as part of Design Night 2009 event. More: www.disainioo.ee/en - The Biennial of Industrial Design (known also by its Slovene acronym BIO) is a comparative international exhibition of industrial design, visual communications and design concepts. One of the world’s oldest design events, with a tradition of more than forty years, BIO promotes contemporary trends in international design through its selection of well-designed products and its emphasis on quality, originality and innovation. From the first biennial in 1964 to today, BIO has presented twenty-one exhibitions surveying the state of international design. Every two years, designers, commissioners, manufacturers and students from around the world present their latest achievements. The BIO Secretariat, the organiser of the biennial, sends out a call for submissions, and the Selection Committee, appointed by the Secretariat anew for each biennial, chooses the works to be exhibited. BIO presents works in three categories: PRODUCTS, VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS and DESIGN CONCEPTS.
