Dana Hoey, Bikini Brawl (1996). Bikini Brawl is my favorite early picture, which involved pitting one psychology against another and bringing subterranean tension to the surface. My most recent photos are the equivalent of surface tension; I photographed both realistically cast and stylized female bodies. Still wrestling with the concept of "female". An exhibition of 50 works by artists and architects on a trip of self-reflection in the literal and metaphorical form of a blueprint. With works by a diverse group of voices from Adamo Faiden, Alix Lambent, Vik Muniz, Reiser-Umemoto to Vito Acconci, BLUEPRINT is an exhibition bound by aporias. Curated by Sebastiaan Bremer, Florian Idenburg and Jing Liu with an installation by SO-IL, BLUEPRINT leaves the Storefront gallery totally open, yet perpetually closed and fixed. Wrapped in time and in space, the Acconci-Holl façade opens its doors permanently to the works that -while present in the show by reference- are outside the gallery walls. http://storefrontnews.org/programming/events?preview=true&e=670
