Beatriz Colomina will be lecturing on Eero Saarinen at the A+D Architecture and Design Museum as part of the inCollaboration event series with the Cal Poly Los Angeles Metropolitan Program in Architecture and Urban Design on Tuesday, January 29th, 2013. Beatriz Colomina is Professor of Architecture and Founding Director of the Program in Media and Modernity at Princeton University. Her books include Domesticity at War (2007), Doble exposición: Arquitectura a través del arte (2006), Cold War Hothouses (2004), Privacy and Publicity: Modern Architecture as Mass Media (1994) and Sexuality and Space (1992). She is the curator, with a team of Princeton Ph.D. students, of the exhibition Clip/Stamp/Fold: The Radical Architecture of Little Magazines 196x-197x, which opened in New York in 2006 and has traveled to ten cities around the world and the co-editor of the catalogue. More recently she co-curated Playboy Architecture, 1953-79, which opened in Maastricht in September 2012. Her next two forthcoming books are X-Ray Architecture: Illness as Metaphor (Lars Muller) and Manifesto Architecture (Stenberg press). Lecture and discussion with will be introduced and moderated by Stephen Phillips AIA, PhD, associate professor, and director of the Cal Poly LA Metro Program in Architecture and Urban Design.
