Interactive communication technologies are transforming how we produce, organize, and share knowledge, and this panel will consider the implications that these developments carry for urban growth and development. How are digital networking websites and global mapping systems transforming how we design and program the urban environment? How is “Obamania” changing the face of civic engagement? These are some of the questions we hope to consider in this exchange, which will include perspectives from a group of leading designers, politicians, and cultural theorists.
