The 2008 Alex Katz Chair Lecture

WHAT: 
This prestigious endowed chair, established by Cooper Union School of Art alumnus and former trustee Alex Katz, was created in 2002 to bring distinguished international painters to participate in the academic program of the School of Art. This year, Berlin and Hamburg-based painter Daniel Richter, known for deconstructing art historical moments and depicting violence, instability, and apocalyptic energy, will speak about his work.

*New York artist and Cooper Union alumnus Alex Katz (class of ’49) endowed The Cooper Union School of Art with a fund to support a program that brings the most extraordinary contemporary painters to the school to work with advanced painting students.
