Architect and Seattle City Councilor Peter Steinbrueck FAIA discusses the politics, principles and best practices of sustainability among leading cities in the U.S. He draws on recent projects such as Sustainable Development Guidelines for the City of San Diego and development of a sustainable master plan for Seattle Children’s Hospital, achieving a high degree of integration with the surrounding neighborhood and setting aggressive goals environmental stewardship, including adoption of the Architecture 2030 Challenge.
