OTIS COLLEGE PRESENTS DESIGN TRAJECTORY: A LECTURE ON INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE by LEWIS.TSURUMAKI.LEWIS Principals of Award-winning Architecture Firm and the Otis 2009 Donghia Designers-in-Residence Speak at MOCA. WHO: The principals of New York-based architecture firm Lewis.Tsurumaki.Lewis are the 2009 Donghia Designers-in-Residence at Otis College of Art and Design, Los Angeles. LTL is an innovative, award-winning architecture partnership founded in 1997 by Paul Lewis, Marc Tsurumaki and David J. Lewis. LTL Architects received the 2007 National Design Award for Interior Architecture from the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum and was selected as one of six American architectural firms featured in the U.S. Pavilion at the 2004 Venice Architecture Biennale. In addition, LTL was included in the 2000 National Design Triennial at the Cooper-Hewitt and was selected in December 2000 by Architectural Record as one of ten firms representing a "Vanguard in Contemporary Architecture." Lewis.Tsurumaki.Lewis are co-authors of two books, the monograph Opportunistic Architecture (Princeton Architectural Press, 2008) and Situation Normal....Pamphlet Architecture #21 (Princeton Architectural Press, 1998). WHAT: Otis College presents Design Trajectory: Exploring Overlaps Between Space, Program, Form, Budget and Materials, a lecture on interior architecture by Lewis.Tsurumaki.Lewis. This lecture was made possible through a generous donation from The Angelo Donghia Foundation, and organized by the Architecture/Landscape/Interiors Department at Otis College of Art and Design, with Linda Pollari, Chair. The partnership between Otis and the Angelo Donghia Foundation began in 2008 with the first Donghia Designer-in-Residence award presented to Eva L. Maddox of Perkins + Will | Eva Maddox Branded Environments. The program¹s goal is to introduce internationally renowned and award-winning design professionals to Otis students and the greater Los Angeles interior design community. The Donghia Designer-in-Residence awardees, selected for their contemporary and innovative work, are principals of their firm or senior designers in a large firm who are committed to teaching future designers.
