As part of Toronto’s Design Week 2012, the Design Exchange is proud to offer a variety of programming for the city-wide design experience, taking place January 23–29 at the DX, 234 Bay Street. DX events will include a screening of co-director Ben Murray’s Unfinished Spaces, exhibition launch of Stephen Burks’ Man Made Toronto, panel discussion of The Evolving Visual Consumer, relaunch of the renowned DX Resource Centre and more. Design Week is one of the DX’s most anticipated annual attractions and raises awareness about designers and the best in new design practices. Daily Tours The DX will relaunch the Resource Centre- which houses a collection of over 450 significant pieces of Canadian design spanning over six decades. A different tour will be offered each of the following days: January 23 - Tour of Stephen Burks: Man Made Toronto January 24 - Post-War Design –DX Permanent Collection Tour January 25 - Designing the Swinging 60’s –DX Permanent Collection Tour January 26 - Design Exchange Awards Exhibition Tour January 27 - Art Deco & Streamline Moderne –Tour of the Historic Trading Floor All DX tours during Design Week take place from 1-1:40 p.m. Tours are $8 per person; DX Members and students are free.
