Behind every great piece of design, chances are there’s a host of great stories waiting to be told. Stories about people, visions, challenges, innovations and experience. It's these stories that make for great PR, an essential part of any designer’s marketing toolkit. This DIAlogue session will cover Public Relations fundamentals and provide practical advice on driving the PR machine to raise your profile. Publicist and brand strategist Esther Navarro Orejon from The Project Agency will provide advice and tips on how to craft a successful PR pitch and what you’ll need to be ready for any press opportunities that come your way. Alexa Kempton, Managing Editor of Architecture Australia magazine will discuss the best ways to build lasting relationships with journalists and share some industry secrets that can help secure valuable digital and print coverage. Interior designer Fiona Lynch will give a designers perspective on professional communications and how she uses different platforms to enable journalists to source stories about her practice. We'll wrap up with a Q&A session led by the session convenor DIA Victoria Tasmania Councillor Daniella Casamento from DCID followed by networking. DIAlogue AM is in keeping with the DIA's commitment to promote design as a profession and a core contributor to the quality of business, society and our environment. This is an official DIA Accredited Designer™ presentation and will accrue 6 CPD points towards DIA Accredited Designer status.
