In conjunction with the opening weekend of the exhibition Guggenheim Helsinki Now: Six Finalist Designs Unveiled, presented at the Kunsthalle Helsinki from April 25 through May 16, 2015, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation will present two public programs featuring outstanding architects from Denmark, Finland, and the United States. Troy Conrad Therrien, Curator of Architecture and Digital Initiatives at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and curator of Guggenheim Helsinki Now, and Juulia Kauste, Director of the Museum of Finnish Architecture will moderate a roundtable discussion about the function of competitions in contemporary architecture and the role of architects in society. Participants will include Bjarke Ingels; Jeanne Gang; Marco Steinberg, Founder of Snowcone; Riina Palva, Founder and Principal of Verstas; and Pentti Kareoja, Founder and principal of ARK-House Architects and Professor at Aalto University.
